Samsung 22B350 unboxed

You know that you are living in a Filipino home if you see new appliances and furniture covered with plastics. Owners don’t want their prized belongings to get old so they will hold on to the cover until they realize that maybe it’s time to take it out. Same with me.

I purchased a Samsung LA22B350F2 last Thursday in Abenson in Ever Gotesco-Ortigas. I earlier planned to buy it from a Save More branch near us but it was out of stock. Why a TV, and why this TV? I long wanted to have a television in my room. I want to watch programs while I’m working on my computer. It might seem to be counterproductive to watch and work at the same time, but it’ll be more counterproductive to go downstairs, go to my parent’s room and watch TV from there. Why Samsung? It’s the cheapest LCD TV that I can find for P 16, 900. I don’t really need a home theater. Plus, I already have an LG and I want to try another brand. There’s an LCD TV by LG and it is pegged at P 17, 900 but after comparing the two in the store’s display, color is more vibrant in Samsung (the same way that my LG CRT is sharper that LG Flatron).

The TV works perfectly with my 80GB Microsoft Zune (sorry, I don’t have an iPod). Here, I played Lord of the Rings:

Once you connect the Zune to the wifi, it has the ability to know the top songs (at least in the US). Top pop song is I Gotta Feeling.

Review will follow later once I finish setting up the cable channels.
