Tama na yan, inuman na!
Fifteen cans of San Mig Light, an order of Dimsum rolls, three buckets of ice, cigarettes and a humid Friday afternoon in Megamall. Just a perfect setting to bond with (former) co-trainees in the L0-L1 training before we are deployed to our teams.
Before that, we watched Spiderman 3. Although I didn’t really like the plot, it is nevertheless worth watching if you’re looking for a tragic end for bestfriends-turned enemies-then-reconciled.
But anyway, there were nine of us in the group: John (who is our trainor, and has to cancel a previous appointment to be with us), Kats (or Katrina, who’s got a very nice pair of “legs”, ), Dets (or Gertrude, who John considers to be her daughter), Yannie (or Dyeane, whose van we used to go to Megamall from the office), Mitch (or Michelle, who celebrated her birthday about two weeks ago), Rayann (whom John calls Precious because of her small voice), Brian (my original wavemate in Wave 32 of BXP) and AJ (or Allan Jay, my team mate under Team Liz). Some of our co-trainees have commitments so it’s just the nine of us who were available yesterday.
BTW, one of us cried when Peter Parker’s Aunt May recalls how Uncle Ben proposed to her. Hulaan na lang kung sino ang iyakin.
Going back to the San Mig Light, we parted ways after the movie. John and Mitch headed off to Antipolo while the seven of us went outside to drink beer, just as we originally planned. Dets, Yannie and Rayann are not drinkers, so we just gave them one can each. We left the place past 5 pm after we have released our angst on the call center job, the team, the TLs, the company itself, family and relationships. Nothing beats alcohol in bringing up our issues in life.
But wait, there’s more. Rayann and I didn’t leave Megamall until 7 pm. We passed by Bench to buy some clothes, the department store to buy a birthday gift for his one-year old cousin (or was it a nephew? I can’t remember.) and Chowking to eat some halo-halo. The mall was full of people since it’s the start of the three-day sale. That goes to show that the Philippines is a third-world country…

[Rayann, by the way is a registered nurse, but she will retake Tests 3 and 5 since she is part of the June 2006 nursing board exam passer which had a leakage. Roxie, my crush back in my previous job, is also June 2006 board passer. RJ, whose my perpetual crush since second year high school, is also taking up nursing. You do the math.]
This morning, our shift sup informed me of my team and shift assignment – TL Roman, 8 pm to 5 am, with Wednesdays and Saturdays off. I’ve known Roman when I was still with TL Liz. He was actually the one who took this photo.
It would take some time before we could have a get-together again. I won’t mind shelling out some amount of money just for us to see and tell each other’s stories again. Life is too short to be too much focused on the job, specially with call centers.
