Clothes to wear in a call center
Two days ago, all of the agents and back-office people were asked to wear business attire clothing. Our bosses in the United States and Germany came over for a one-day visit which I think lasted ‘tll evening.
I just wore my slack pants, leather shoes and a green polo that I purchased that morning in Market Market. The clothes we wore were a big issue that evening because we don’t normally does that. This makes me wonder what employees from other call centers wear.
I myself very seldom wear formal clothes.I guess the only instances were when I’m applying for a job or getting an interview, which so far happened twice. Most of the time, I wear sneakers or rubber shoes, jeans and polo shirt with collar, or just a plain shirt. This is far more comfortable than wearing leather shoes and long sleeves, specially if your station isn’t reached by the center’s airconditioning system. But I don’t think that I’m the only one who prefers this get up. When I see people lined up in the elevator, I look at their clothes and check if they’re with our company. And most of the time I guess it right.
But there were some agents in our company who look like they’re always attending a party, complete with stilettos. Also at one time, I saw an agent who was wearing her school uniform.
How about you? What do you wear in your work?

When i worked at the call center of a anti-virus firm. I pretty much wore what ever i liked, i heard a bad word for it. One time, on a really bad day (no sleep, totaly trashed) i met in unshaved, bad morning hair, a spotted white t-shirt, jogging pants and bare feet, didn’t recieve a singel furrowed brow.
I guess it varies alot from call center to call center, our overseas department were quite strict, and always wore suits.

I believe one should dress appropriately to work without having to sacrifice comfort.
